Managers of Kia Motors Czech invited journalists to Prague’s restaurant Bastion on Wednesday. What are their plans for 2013?
A new company president Tae Ho Lee was introduced to the reporters at the event.
"Kia brand had another, extremely successful year both globally and in the Czech Republic. On world markets, Kia sold last year 2,710,017 units, bringing the annual increase in sales of 9.3%. In Europe, sales totaled 571,033 units of vehicles, an increase of 19.5%. Kia remains one of the manufacturers with the highest dynamics of growth. Globally best-selling model is Kia Rio, followed by the city’s popular SUV Sportage," boasted company director Vit Pekny in Bastion.
In the Czech Republic, Kia recorded a 8564 newly registered cars last year, which represents a 4.9% market share.
"In the Czech Republic, despite a flat market for passenger vehicles, Kia brand managed to maintain market share and position among the six strongest brands. The 2012 best selling model was cee’d (3545 pcs), second place went to Kia Sportage (1,456 units), followed by model Rio (1397 pieces) at the third position, "said the director.
What are KMCZ plans for this year? "We want to near the top five importers this year. Several novelties will help us, all prepared for the first half of the year, "said Vit Pekny.
